GHV Boys Win Cross Country State Title!

The Garner-Hayfield-Ventura boys cross country team picked up their first state title on Saturday, October 31st at Kennedy Park in Fort Dodge, winning the 2A crown. GHV scored just 59 points in winning the title; scoring is made by the first five finishers out of the 7-man team.  Lowest scores win. The Cardinals were led by senior Chase Smith, who finished second for the second straight year.  GHV outdistanced Unity Christian of Orange City by 20.  This marks the first state title for the newly consolidated GHV school district.
